Visual Impact Academy

About

Visual Impact Academy

Everyone that leaves Visual Impact Academy has a professional home to come back to. To help students get employment, we support them with mentoring, edit equipment and broadcast equipment after completion of the internship. Our relationship is lifelong and stretches way beyond the internship.

Visual Impact Academy identified a need for real world training given by people who actually are working in the Film and Video Industry. Our two top priorities are to offer the best internship available in the broadcast sector and to get our interns work after they have completed the internship. The internship focuses on developing producing, directing, editing and content creation skills. To ensure skills development and quality the interns are required to participate and complete projects for real clients. These kids are bright, motivated and competent. Give them a chance on your project.

Recommendations

Dear Marius,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for placing 3 interns on our production from 17 June - 17 July 2019. Lauren Engel, Giovannie Campher and Qhama Mroleli have been fantastic on set. They have a good attitude and an eagerness to learn from the crew in all departments. Currently, they are assisting in the camera department but are consciously alert and offer to help in other departments, ie lighting and grips. They are always on set on time and always last to leave, making sure that everything is packed up and ready for the next day. As I always say, 90% attitude and 10% skill, then you will succeed in life. I can teach you a skill but not attitude! This production has been a challenging one on because of the location shooting and the long days. This has not deterred them once. They pitch up every day with the same great attitude and ready to participate. Wandering Spirits has gained from them working on set. Please tell them to keep it up!

Yours faithfully,

Tania Reed

Line Producer
Dear Marius & Stef,

Working with the Visual Impact academy was a really refreshing experience. Linda and Jaydene arrived on set already equipped with confidence in handling equipment, set etiquette and a strong sense of professionalism. They were hands on, inquisitive and open to learning.

It is really wonderful to see how invested the Visual Impact team is in the development of the students in their training program and it was an honour to be a part of that. Having them part of our team was an absolute pleasure and I look forward to working with them in the future. Thank you so much for all your help on Style Squad Season #1.

Trusting all is well.

I am writing to formally, on behalf of Play Handball, thank you and your team for such a vibey and a wonderful time this past Saturday at the SuperCup, hosted at the German International School. It was great to see so many youth behind the camera taking ownership of a project dedicated for the youth.

What I saw was role modeling using photography - because some youth were inspired by just your presence. We look forward to seeing the final product that you family have put together. May this not be the last time we collaborate on a project for the youth. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best Regards,

Simphiwe Mahlanyana

Project Coordinator, Play Handball
